slight vibration at idle on the 3.4

like mentioned, on the 94 3.4 it vibrates at idle. Dont believe it to be a rubbing vibration. Feels more like the actual engine. As soon as i give it the ever so slight throttle it goes right away.

Any ideas ?

its hard to tell without actually being there, the 3.4 is not known to be the smoothest running ever, are you sure it is a normal and not just a normal idle?

I've had 1 firebird 3.4 and 1 camaro 3.4, they have both done this. My dad has a camaro 3.4 that doesn't. Whatever it is, its unsolvable through engine / tranny mounts or any amount of superficial engine work (plugs, wires, iac, fpr, O2 sensors, etc). I think its just a common thing that happens on 3.4s.

If you do find a root cause, please share it with the rest of us who haven't had such luck.

I am going to go to the other end of the spectrum here. My 3.4 idles so smooth that you cannot even tell it is running, except for the loud exhaust. :cool:

Before I tuned it up it had a tiny vibration, after changing the coils, wires, plugs, and spraying out the Tb the idle became very, very smooth.

Tom, what RPM is it actually idling at? Maybe it is a little low?

did some reading. Appears this is very common. Not sure what it idles at but it seemed normal
