  • Technical weird power loss issue

I've noticed this started happening lately.

75% of the time while I'm in park, or at a stop I turn the wheel to the left, the power and lights will dim, the gauges will drop and the rpm's would drop to about 400 - 500 then back to 700 at idle.

I'm thinking there is a short, or something is about to go out, or is this a common thing and something I need to look into upgrading?

I've noticed by lights dim a moment and the gauges twitch when I tap the brake, but everything goes back to normal after a split second. I'd guess it just a quirk.

Get your alternator tested and upgrade your ground wires.

replace your belt, putting a load on the power steering pump may be causing it to slip and cause the lights to dim.

cool thnx guys, the serpentine belt was replaced with the gatorback replacement from O'Reilly's. but I've noticed it happening just before then.

The alternator has been there since it was purchased in 2000 so maybe, i'll double check all the grounds as well.
