I'm not sure where this goes but I have a '79 Sunbird with a 4.1 Buick V6 that I installed. What I came here to find out is if there is a good year 3800 intake system that could be swapped onto the 4.1. I know the intake gaskets would have to match. I'd like to have the reliability and all that that goes with the fuel injection. Barring that, what would be a good 3.8 or 3.4 to swap in total with the electronics of course. Thanks.

Re: H-Body swap
The 3800 in the F body is a series 2 motor. Not much of it is the same as the series 1 motor you have. The good news is 94 and older 3800 motors have fuel injection and should work for what you want. The bad new for that is they are all OBD1 and harder to tune then the OBD2 series 2 stuff.sigpic

Re: H-Body swap
I have a factory Q-jet and stock aluminum intake which flows really well according to the V6 books I have. And no computer control, Maybe that would be way to go. I Just want to cruise down the highway. Are the '94 and older's with TBI or with Tuned port type intakes? What transmissions did the '94 and older F-Bodys come with?
