  • Evap solenoid clicking loudly

My evap solenoid is clicking so loud that I thought it was my valvetrain. Unplugged the electrical connection at the rear and it stopped. Replugged it back and it started again so this is the obvious culprit. I've been searching around a few different spots on the web and I've only heard it was normal. It's really loud so I'm still worried. Anyways, I'm boosted so is that a possible reason as to why it could possibly be bad?

where have you been! i don't have a real answer for you, but if its not setting a code, it would theoretically be doing its job. don't know what would make a solenoid louder. unless there was some kind of felt or something that made it quieter when it engages that wore off...check out my turbo build. sorry i couldn't be more help.

It does seem to be exceedingly louder when the front vacuum line is touching the throttle body. Maybe I will just modify it a little and try to ignore it.

order a new one from advanced auto , autozone etc. replace it...if it doesn't sound much better just return it...no harm. and it's a fast job. can do it right in the lot before you leave the autoparts store

I put a little bit of weather stripping on it as a cushion to where the plastic tube was touching the upper intake. If that doesn't help with the noise then maybe I'll try replacing it.
