• How can you tell it's an RS?

I have a friend that has a 96 camaro he calls it an RS but i dont think it is.. He's one of those guys that tries to think he's got all the big shot stuff all the time and will lie about it and believe his own lies.. He said "some guys at the shop told me since it was fully loaded.. t-tops.. power everything etc.. its an "RS".. Ive noticed that every "RS" i've seen has that chevy logo inside on the dash.. and an "RS" symbol on the side.. what qualifies a camaro as an "RS"

Will RS's ever come without Ground effects. I thought all the 4th gen. Camaro RS's had the Ground effects. Cause I keep seeing this Convertible but it has An RS badge on the sides. But no ground effects.

As far as I know the differences of a RS are the badging, ground effects, factory dual exhaust, 3.42's for autos, and the same steering ratio as a Z28.

If that's true, then I have some 'bad' news for my buddy...

No...thats Y87s. Look at the technical database. The RS's had Ground Effects, AC, 16x8 wheels and 235s. And they have RS lettering on the sides and rear. Unless he removed it...which would make him a retard.

Well, I'm not sure about the older ones, but I know all about the 2002's.

2002 Camaro RS option code Y3B includes;
1. Dual Heritage Racing Stripes in black or silver
2. Front Grille w/Bowtie Logo
3. One Interior & Three Exterior RS Badges
4. Dual outlet Z28 Muffler

That's all you got. Anything else was optional.

In '96, you would've definately had ground effects & RS badging on the sides & rear
