HELP! whisper lid not fitting filter box?

hey everyone. im new to this board and had a question that a friend told me you guys could answer.

i have a '00 camaro, with a k&n air filter, but a stock filter box, so i bought this lid instead:

however, it doesnt seem to fit well at all, or lineup, and im pretty sure i bought the right lid. any suggestions? thanks!

it looks to me like the hosing connects slighty to the right of on center, and on the Whisper lid i bought, its directly on center.

also, the lid came with a k&n filter breather (KN-62-1030) and im not sure where that goes, or what it connects to...

That appears to be the airbox for the LS1 v8--you should return it and buy this one-- http://<a href="http://www.thunderra...5&pcid=182</a>
The lid is at the very bottom of the page...

See where it says LS1 at the top? LS1 is the engine in 98+ Z28s. You've got the V6, so you need a different version of the lid: http://www.lmperformance.com/1617/13.html

hey, thanks. thats what i figured what the problem was. but my friend was pretty sure it was the right one. oh well. gotta be careful who you trust these days ;)

ill be sure and post some pictures of my car, inside and out, when its all done.
