I changed my 195 thermostat to the 180, however I see no difference whatsoever. Even on the gauge on my dash it doesnt look any different. It still reads at 195.(the 210 mark is right next to it so I figure its still 195) Could there be something wrong w/ the thermostat or did I forget to reprogram something? Anyone else have this problem?

I have installed quite a few 160 thermos in LS1's before and have had the same results. I don't know if it's in the sending unit from GM or what, but when you read the data off of Autotap or whatnot, the temperature HAS lowered.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

That temp gauge is nowhere near accurate. It should just have a "HOT" and "COLD" printed on it. Get yourself some scantool software to monitor the real temp.~Derrick My Webpage
\'96 3.8L V6 M5 Firebird Y87 | 162.8 RWHP / 196.7 RWTQ
• SLP CAI • Y87 Package - 3.23s • 180º thermo w/ fan switch • TB spacer from DEE
1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4

Very true. V8 guys have that after 1998 too. GM made the gauge a dummy gauge so that it wouldn't move over a huge range. Either a scantool or a real temperature sensor/gauge (Autometer type) will give you an accurate reading.
