My service engine light has been staying on all the time lately and my mileage has gone down. I went today to see if it was something other than the headers throwing the code. I had a cylinder 1 misfire. I have AC Delco plugs with about 35k miles and MSD wires with about 15k miles. The coil packs have never been changed but if i had a bad coil pack wouldnt it make 2 cylinders misfire since each coil pack goes to 2 cylinders? I cant figure out what it is so any suggestions would be great.

Well, I'd change the plug and wire for that one cylinder (but you should change them all if you do that), and see if the ses light goes out after that. If you're still having the same problem, then I would look into replacing that coil pack2000 silver A4 Camaro
Whisper lid; Free Ram Air; BMR stb; MSD super conductor wires; Gatorback belt?
1986 RX-7 (daily driver)

That morning is was raining very hard and i think what happened was i hit a puddle and water splashed up just the right way so that a coil pack was exposed to water. Normally you do not have to replace them, usually the only time you run into problems is when you get them wet. Like when you wash your engine a lot without being careful.
Anyway, i would be willing to bet that your problem is just a bad coil. It is an easy fix though, there should not be any problems.2000 Monterey Maroon Chevrolet Camaro
3.8L V-6/4spd Auto

i dont think its the water cause we use salt water on cars to test for arching and we were spraying it right on and around the coil packs

Anyways, i do believe that was sort of the last straw for the coil pack. I think it got wet that morning and just gave out. Less than 45K on the clock, the coil pack should not have went bad. More often than not, coil packs go bad before they should because of over-exposer to water. That is a fact.
