  • fuel filter problem?

I just changed my fuel filter today and now things are worse. The car is hesitating even more now and there's a light on the dash (not sure what it is - could not find it in the owner's manual) It's an orange light just above the speedo.

There's no leaks and I think I intalled it correctly but I guess I'll have to get under the car again to check out where I messed up. Any ideas?

OK, I figured out that the light is an SES (stupid me). The car also starts fine so it is getting some fuel. I think it might be air in the lines, should this go away after a few driving trips?

air in the fuel line should go away fairly quickly. I would say your problem is a missfire, bad sensor readings, intake clogged maybe, could be several things. Inspect the air filter to eliminate that, then maybe put on some new plugs and plug wires if that hasn't been done in the last 30k miles or so. Wires seem to go bad sooner than that and are pretty cheap. Even if that's not the problem, you know you have new ones if you go that route.
