This is primarily a problem in 2-4 gears (M5). What could this be, it is quite frustrating. It feels like the car is choking out. Just cleaned my K&N last month, installed underhood ram air and whisper lid, so I don't think it is there. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.
im having a similar problem actually, but its 1st and 2nd gear. i punch it from a slow roll and it hits about 3500 rpms and i can actualy feel the car "slow down" and my body moves forward like i hit the brakes. im not exaclty sure where to start looking becuase it just started happening like a week ago.

When I needed new plug wires my car only hesistated above 3k rpms. check those, it may be your problem.

Stupid, question but I gotta ask. Are you shifting gears way too early? Ok, now that that is out of the way, try some spark plug cleaner. If that fails, I would consider new plugs, wires, and coil packs.
lol, no when i race i shift at like 5000 or so (maybe a lil higher) and when im jus driving i usually shift at 2500-3000 so thats not it sorry. [img]tongue.gif[/img] ill check the plugs and wires tomorrow, thanks

Check your cat. To much back preashure will also cause the problem you discribed.

It isn't a problem of shifting, it's only when I am trying to accelerate more quickly than usual, not punching it, but say if I pull out wanting to pick up the pace to avoid traffic getting too close. If I accelerate normally, you wouldn't notice. I hate not being able to run my car w/o hesitating and the embarrassing popping that comes from my exhaust.
I had the same problem not to long ago ... check your coils with a Multi-Meter. My middle coil was shot, she drove fine until the RPM's were getting up to 3+ then would get all sluggish and felt like it was missing ... it was.
