  • Air Conditioning Problem

Ok its actually not just the ac because it happens when the ac is off and it is just blowing regular air. It seems whenever I go on longer trips, and by longer I mean like a half hour drive to Houston, after a little while my ac is blowing like no air. When it is turned up to the highest setting there is still less air coming out when it is usually working on the lowest setting. The air coming out is still cold its just there is like no air coming out. It never happens if I am just driving around my town, only when I am going down to Houston (about a 30 mile drive). Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks for any help.

Could be that your blower fan motor is going bad.

Is it coming out of any of the other places like by your feet or the defroster? Do you park under trees and get leaves on the little vents at the bottom of the windshield?

If it's coming out other places, then a vacuum line has broke or came off and isn't moving the air flow control doors like it should, or if you park under trees a lot, some leaves or something may have plugged the entire air system. But first I would check to see that the blower motor is running.

It might be that your heat exchanger in the cabin is icing up? I have the same problem, but it only happens when I have the AC up on HIGH for about an hour. If i leave the AC on 'Normal' not max, and the fan on the next position down from max, no issue. So I can only assume that my in cabin exchanger is icing up.

FYI if it was a vaccum problem, you would have the problem ALL the time, not just 30 minutes later, OR you could turn the AC off, wait 1 minute, turn it back on and it would work.
