2 questions on head gaskets. first how hard is it to replace the head gaskets by my self. access to all toll and repair manual. just don't want to pay $1,300 at mechanic. i have replaced a few before but alway in an i-4 fwd. 2nd question, is there any high rpm or high performance head gaskets out there?

Picture two i-4's crammed under your hood and replacing the gaskets. There's alot of stuff to pull off with limited space. Sounds cheaper to throw in a new engine for what the mechanic wants.
