  • Bad PCV valve?

Would a bad PCV valve cause a inconsistant idle and also cause a miss fire while cruising?

Thanks in advance for the info.

      Not at all.

just did mine this weekend also, did feel more down low power though. Not sure wether to use a sealant or gasket when putting cover back on though, so i put nothing.

Well, I changed mine last night and I felt like there was more power down low to but it didn't fix my problem. Still have the inconsistant rough idle setting off the ses light(which only comes on at idle) and still chugging during cruising speeds.

                  it might be supercharger related...

when I run FRA with no filter, driving 1-2 miles to the track, the car will buck and spudder because air is being forced through the MAF, but I am not giving it gas but maf is tellin ghte computer I am.

maybe something similar with your setup? DC pushing a certain amount of air pass the maf at idle?

Or do you have no boost whatsever at idle.

There really should be any significant boost at idle and I have had this set up for about 7 months and have not had any problems except for the last couple of months.

not sure... your ignition is all up to par? Whats the code if you get it scanned?

po420, cat has been changed so its not. People have told me O2 sims would stop the ses light from coming on but I don't think thats causing the problem. I have been told that if the ses light comes on from a high flow cat that it would not effect drivability. Well, the light only comes on after the car warms up and I am sitting at idle and start getting that inconsistant rough idle I was talking about. Also something I have recently noticed is the car does not seem to chug at cruising speed unless the car is warmed up or if it is hot outside. I am at a loss :(

Those people are correct. P0420 will do nothing to effect performance.

This what I am trying to find out. Why does the ses PO420 code only come on when the engine starts running rough sitting at an idle?

the pcv does help with the idle,. could be the . the engine will start out rough a little at first start. but it sould smooth out as she warms up.
