without nitrous or forced induction how can i get a 97 camaro a4 in to the 14's? I don't know what it runs now and i don't have anything performance done. I am starting with a slp cai and a custom cat back with 2.5'' mandrel bent piping to a dynomax super turbo with dual outlet to to 3'' tips. What would be the next thing to do? Would a cowl hood drop my times? Thanks guys.

It would be an easy feat - you just need practice and a couple of easy mods. Read around on the forum and do some searches. If you need any specific help ask for it 2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

Hey man to get a 97 A4 Camaro into the 14s wouldn't be to hard. Look at my signature to see what I have run. Not much to go to see that 14sec time slip. Also considering the mods and the gears I have I have a lot to do still. I'm shooting for 14s myself. you could probably hit 14's easy with gears, LSD, a catback, intake, and a converter
dont forget the practice!

So my cai and custom cat-back would be a start then. How much do you think that will drop my times? Keep in mind that I have 18's=slower et right? They are a lot lighter than stock tho.2005 Cavalier LS Sport M5
http://members.cardomain.com/firefighter8615

Maybe think about getting a 2.75" or 3" catback.
I have a 2001 A4. I got to 15.095 on a cutout & jet chip.
First thing you need to do is open your driver's side door, and you will see a white sticker with a bunch of codes on it. Look for y87. If you have that code, you are one big step ahead. If you do not, seriously consider getting some 3.42 gears & a zexel-torsen differential. May be easier to just swap out the whole rear-end with one from a v8 or a y87 v6 (then you get four wheel disk brakes too!). Do a search, there is plenty of nfo out there. Not terribly expensive either.
Here is a good formula assuming you do not want to do any engine or transmisson work (ie a torque converter).
Get a CAI system. Get a catback (and a highflow catalytic converter).
Do some computer tuning, either through a chip or through the maft+ (do a search on it).
Get some stock painted rims for cheap & put a set of drag radials on the back. Perhaps get some skinnies for up front as well.
That will almost certainly put you into the 14's, especially w/ some good maft+ tuning.
Throw a torque converter into the mix w/ all that and you should hid mid-to-low 14's depending on your launch.2001 75th Anniversary V6 Pewter Firebird w/ Chrome Wheels, T-Tops, & Y87
Mods: Free Ram Air, !Silencer, Holley Filter, Full 3\" Hooker Catback, 3\" Cat
Best time: 15.095 at 90.00 MPH with a 2.127 60\'

Check out my sig. All I have is Y87, CAI, 2.5" catback with flowmater 80. If you can get a simple combo like this and run on a cold day you will be in the 14's.White 98 Camaro with t-tops leather and Y87. For more info on mods just ask.
1/4=14.9
2002 Xterra V6 A4

Mostly everyone is correct except the guy who said get a converter, if you get a converter you will 99% be guaranteed mid 14s with exhaust and cai and a nice gear, the converter does so much for our cars.Longtubes, true duals, ram air, caspers tps tec, ls1 26lb injectors, supersix powerpack, heads milled .020, comp cam .507 220/224 114 ls, forged internals and chromeoly pushrods, bored .030 over, tb spacer, tranny built with stiffer springs and kevlar bands, bigger servo, transgo stage 3 shift kit, edge 3600 stall, 1 pc aluminum ds, 3.73 superior gears, lsd rear ,custom pcm tuning, walbro 255 in tank,

i think you guys might be confusing your converters? Cat or stall?

I was referring to a torque converter not a cat converter, if danny said a torque converter wont do much he is an idio and you should take your business to someone who has half a brain Longtubes, true duals, ram air, caspers tps tec, ls1 26lb injectors, supersix powerpack, heads milled .020, comp cam .507 220/224 114 ls, forged internals and chromeoly pushrods, bored .030 over, tb spacer, tranny built with stiffer springs and kevlar bands, bigger servo, transgo stage 3 shift kit, edge 3600 stall, 1 pc aluminum ds, 3.73 superior gears, lsd rear ,custom pcm tuning, walbro 255 in tank,

with simple bolt ons and a decent day, driving is what will get you into the 14's. Look at my sig, not too much more than a muffler. just modified stock equipment. Learn to launch, and you will have a good 14 sec pass. I just ran a 14.90 anda 14.93 on sunday. low 60 foots are what you need..
