• cant rev over 2k rpm's

I aint sure and am wondering if i have a problem or if it is just the way the car suppose to act. When i sit with my brake on and rev it up in drive, it will only go to 1900 rpm's, is this just the way the 99 camaros are or do i have a problem or what, it wont even break the tires loose. I am new to most of this and could se the help, thanks in advance.

what gears?

i'm guessing you have a low stall torque converter.

check your door panel for the gearing ratio and see if you also have the high gearing. that'd make it hard for you to break em loose when power braking.

i am sure i have 3.08 because i have the fp87 package, which is base i think. If i had a higher stall converter or 3.42 gears would that let it rev anymore? i just hate it bogging down when it gets around 1900rpms

check your door to make sure
gu4 is 3.08s
gu5 is 3.23s
gu6 is 3.42s

you'd be suprised the weird combinations of packages they put.

its not that it wont actually let you rev past that rpm, if you put it in neutral it'll let you rev to the rev limiter to your hearts content right?

try not pressing the brakes so hard when you powerbrake, just hard enough so that car doesn't move, but not too hard that it completely locks the wheels.

it is 3.08 gears (gu4)
would the 4 wheel disc brakes also make it harder to power brake seeing as the rear brakes are also braked?

yeah, better brakes all the way around always makes it harder

thats probably the reason you can't power brake. (low stall converter and high gears)

i had that same combo when i had my 99 Camaro.

i ended up just getting a higher stall converter (3k)

heres my suggestion after looking at your future mods list

save up for gears (personally i'd get 3.73s) and a higher stall torque converter.

get a good torque converter, don't settle for a lower stall than you want, you wont be completely happy with it

3.42s are good too
if you do the interestate miles i'd get rid of the underdrive pulley kit from your fut mods list too.
that's a mod i'd skip all together if i had to drive on the highway or not.
