At what temp are the fans supposed to kick in? I installed my manual fan switch today and both high and low work fine, but i never hear them come on while im driving around (this is probably cause of the exhaust and engine noise). Where/how does the car sense the temp to turn on the fan?
edit... wait i remember they are supposed to kick in at 215... i think, but i still dont know where the sensor is, or how to check it.

Not sure exactly where the sensor is, but a quick check is to crank it up and turn on the a/c, the fans should come on very shortly afterwards. Put your hand down there and feel if they are blowing.

ok, well seems the fans are working fine and dandy.
I did get those nasty 1651 and 1652 codes today. I guess theres no way to get around them. They shouldnt degrade my performance in any way should they?
Also.... fans will turn off at 30 MPH or faster.

Hmmmm....I was just about to post this...but i'll tag it onto this one...
I've installed a fan switch, got instructions to run power to the light blue wire on the FAN 1 relay...i've also hooked up a simple LED from radio shack b/c i'd always forget and leave the fan on...what's funny is the LED slowly lights up @ about 30 mph and gets steadlily brighter the faster i go...it also turns on full bright when the AC turns on...i've just figured that the relay gets voltage steadlily, but turns the fans on when it see's 12 votls...this would mean the fans weren't on while driving above 30, but did turn on when the AC is on...or..it means that the fans are on while about 30, but not at the same speed, since the voltage is different...i can't exactly check to see if the fans are on while i'm moving, unless i wire a voltmeter in somehow...anyway...anyone know what's going on? not sure how the relay actualy works.

Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
