• 3.4 Improvements - SuperSix Mototorsprts?

Somehow the 200 HP without power adder thread got highjacked.
While I have no use for fuel injection stuff, I was wondering if anyone here had experience with the valve/head work featured on their site?
www.SuperSixMotorsports.com

In the same vein, is anyone using the Edelbrock 4 barrel manifold with the 390-CFM Holley? Has anyone seen tangible improvements by modifying the ports in that piece? Personally, I think it's kind of a funky looking deal (esp. with the converter device and mis-matched ports) but there's not much else available.

Logic and experience leads me to believe that better breathing is the key to more - trouble free - power for the 60* (or any other) motor. I don't understand why folks aren't routinely getting 2 horsepower per cubic inch with a streetable package...

Be well,
Jim

yes im familiar with super six and highly recommend them

i am currently useing a edlebrock 4 barrel 2 stage manifold with a holly 390 carb and have extensive use experience on several different applications, highly reliable and a very noticeable improvement

you ahve no idea how much available power is in your six until you start doing the mods i have already done and this is trouble free reliable power, thats the real goal, acheveing power once or twice and then you have to fix it is no good ill be more than happy to give suggestions and am currently posting my info and experience so all can enjoy just go regularly to scfba.net and check the posts im moderator for the v6 and in the up coming months going to be posting all the info i think your going to be surprised

Yeah the carb setup really brings out the power of the 3.4L, also headwork(from supersix) will highly benifit the car as well. And of course exhaust work as well.

Another thing to look at in my opinion is the cam, the stock cam is built for what looks like a pickup truck, lots of torque, not so much hp.

Do you have a distributor on your setup? If so it makes cam work alot easier.

Yeah,

I've got a distributor and I've got to see about an MSD (at least for the rev limiter). Remember, I'm building the www/StalkerV6.com so, I've got a great set of headers.

So a port and polish and vale job really help out the 3.4?

I can get all of it free...

Wow, this could be a really, really, really stupid question, but here it goes. 3.4L camaros are carborated?
2002 M5 camaro- VTR CAI, custom cat-back exhaust, battery compacitor, pullie, lowering springs, 32mm sway bar, cross-drilled slotted rotars. 1-10\" L7 in cubby.

I think Super Six has something you can buy to carb your FI 3.4... I dunno.

i give up.

ill just give answers - the 3.4 is not carb'd, and no you cant buy something from supersix to make it carb'd. the 2.8/3.1/3.4 have interchangable intake manifolds, so you can buy the edelbrock performance intake manifold for the 2.8, and a nice carb, and slap it all on there.

just fyi - the 3400's aluminum heads flow better than supersix motorsports.

anyway. happy modding.

same thing when the carb is on the 3.4 its a carbed 3.4 period. and yes the edelbrock manufold is correct to use but then thats why i said check us out at scfba.net because we have done extensive work with this set up on 2.8 3.4 and 4.2

the 3400 heads are a good choice but you might have to fab up some custom headers.(not sure if oyu already made some)

nope. ya dont i used RKSport headers (Cause pacesetter was on backorder) and just notched the top holes so it'd fit properly (the ports/bottom bolt holes are in the same location, its the top holes that have changed)

i get no exhaust leaks and everything is good ..so...no worries

anyway..
