HP wise I would say antwhere between 8-11 HP, no more. It's an auwful expensive mod for such modest gains, and you have to use 93 octane gas which makes this mod even more expensive. The only REAL benefit is the firmer shifting, and changing the shift points since you have an auto!
The same goes for chip tuning by fastchips!

The cheapest I ever found it was just under $300. Is there a GP or something? Anyways, you have to figure the cost of the premium gas you'll have to buy, not to mention your MPG will drop slightly (just enough to make a difference anyways).
for $300 you could get a set of pulley (with $200 left over). ;)
Pacesetter headers only cost $204.95 over at JC Whitey, and you;ll still have some left over for the install!! :D
High Flow cat for less than $200 installed at the most!
How about a shifter for the manual $160
Or a shift kit for the auto $105
Gears - 3.42, 3.73 $290
If you really want the chip DO IT!! It's not a bad mod, my only problem with it REALLY is that I don't want to pay for something that won't even remove the speed limiter. Custom tuning will do it, like fastchips. I asked them, and it's $350, but they either need your computer back after they send you a new one, with a $500 core charge.
Just my .02

I ran a GP on the Jet Stage 2s a while ago. Carlos at I-5 Automotive gave us the best deal ($195 ). We had a great response with many more (V8s and such) being purchased...I think the total units sold was something like 20. He may give you a deal, call him at (714) 981-3773. Let him know I sent you, Joel Sandler and remind him of the Group Purchase. I can't say if he will give you the same price, but he did sell a few a couple months after the GP was over for the same price. Good Luck.

Here's the link for the Jet Chip on Racesearch.com. The part number for the '93 V6 A4 is 19312 or 19312S. The S suffix stands for Stage 2, which I would strongly reccommend. http://www.racesearch.com/CGImp/mhp?...xact&pn=19312S

It all matters on the setup of your car. You will see more gains if you have fixed up you intake and exhaust system. I do agree, it is a nice update. I've got the stage 2 in my car and I could tell a big difference when I installed mine.

Has anyone tried racing their car without the PCM chip, then install and compare the difference with no other mods?
I have a 95 3.4 M5 that ran 16.38 @ 84.12 mph with the Jet stage 2 PCM (chip) and a K&N (yeah I know I need more mods for stage 2, they are coming). The car ran this time back in 1999.
About three months ago I noticed a power drop off so I changed the plugs and wires.
I added a catback exhaust from a 95 Z28 and could feel the power increase, yet last week I raced and could only muster 16.73 @ 83.48 mph.
Now I suspect my original power drop off was a problem with the PCM chip. I tried to reset it (per Jet instruction) and now always get SES light. I do not get SES light when Jet PCM removed. Called Jet on Friday to get authorization to send back, and mailed PCM back to Jet today.
I am hoping someone has some hard numbers indicating the gains they got with this product to help me determine if I have other problems.

Update: Called Jet today, and they are sending me a new chip! The old one was defective, and they are sending a new one at no charge, even though it is two years out of warranty. Hurray for a company that is standing behind their product.

I ran the car on the 1/4 mile this past week with the replacement chip, and it ran 16.51 @ 83.69 - with 2.46 60'. So it looks like .22 second gain. I am having a lot of trouble getting the non-posi car out of the hole without either bogging or lighting up the right rear.
After I install the posi (and get some practice with the 5 speed ;) ), I will have to run it on the same night with and without the chip to get a good comparison.
