  • Window Motor or switch

Today i rolled both my windows down and when i went to raise them back the driver side window didnt budge. It was a bit slow before, it would shut a short time after the passenger side. But when i pushed the switch, it was real loose. Could the switch have broken? or is it just the motor? Thanks in advance.

I'm gonna say its the motor. I had the same problem a few months ago and it turned out to be the motor, plus there have been other posts recently with the same issue.
Although to be sure you should check the switch and the harness to the motor with a voltmeter first.
There must be a problem with that door setup. It seems like alot of people have dealt wiht this.

With the window slowing down like it was, I'd have to say it's the motor as well. Both of my windows have done the same thing, and it was the motor in both cases.

Take the swtich from the passenger side and plug it into the driver side and see if it works, my 85 camaro both switches went out before the motors.

Also check and clean the harness to the motor, had a problem with that as well.

Then I woudl worry about swaping the motor.

My driver's side window has had a history of that. It seems like it will roll up for a second or two then freeze. After a few seconds it will go up a little then freeze again. I had the motor changed while the car was under warranty and it didn't do anything but get worse. I took it back to them and they said it's the motor, but about $250 on a gamble to fix it doesn't sound too appealing to me. I don't drive the car when it's raining anyway, but it's extremely annoying.
