  • Turn Signals do not work...

I searched the database here and could not find anyone with the exact problem i am having...

In my 99 Firebird when i turn on the turn signals the indicator just stays solid to whatever direction i point it to. When I turn on the signals the turn signals will light up in the back, and are solid, but i do not see any life in the front. Is it possible both front signals are burnt out? could it be a fuse or relay somewhere?

If it helps, I have a fog lamp out, could that be related?

Its the blinker relay - just buy some new ones. If its like my old 66 Chevy truck was it has one one for each side...

If the relay isn't the problem, check your bulbs. I had a signal bulb (one of the 2-way bulbs) in the taillight go out on my '94, and the blinker did exactly as you have described (the side with the blown bulb was the side that didn't work).

Something occured to me when a Camaro passed me on my lunch break. My day time running lights are never on... Those also function as turn signal's don't they? If I am thinking correctly then they are the problem. What are the odds of both bulbs being blown? Think it could be a fuse instead?

tail lights work fine. on a side note - i am missing the fuse box covers, so i do not have a diagram i can go by - is there a diagram anywhere online that would tell me what fuses to look at?

I agree with you on the fuse idea, because the turn indicators on the front bumper also do not seem to work. It would be an odd coincidence to have four lights out...

If a turn signal buls is loose it will cause the blonker to just stay lit and not flash. Chect the bulbs to see a tight fit and they arn not burned out.
