My engine light is on, but when I plug a diagnostic computer into the obd II port, the computer acts as though it is not plugged in. I have tried 3 different diagnostic tools, so I know the problem is on the car side. None of the pins/wires are pushed though the back of the port. What else could it be?

Check your fuses. I think that runs off the same one as the cigarette lighter.Matt
