Need help tensioning my serpentine belt

i have a quick question when you put on the new belt how do you tension it. i mean do you need something to push the pulley against it or will the force from my hand tension it enough ? thanx

Once you relieve the pressure from the tensioner with a socket and ratchet and install the new belt, the tensioner should provide adequate pressure to hold the belt securely in place. There is no (or should not be) adjustments to the tensioner's pressure. It's already pre-set spring loaded.
