I live in Indiana and I usually put sand bags in my truck. I just got my Camaro, and got rid of the truck, so is it okay to put sandbags in the trunk of the Camaro? Will it hurt the suspension? Planning on about 150 lbs. Any thoughts would help.

150lbs should be sufficient, most people run about 100 though .

For every 100lbs of weight you add, you'll gain the ability to put forth an additional 30ftlbs torque in either stopping, accelerating, or cornering when on pure ice. (I think the coeff of fric of rubber to ice is like 0.3?)

If I remember right, a gallon is almost 10 pounds. Keep your gas tank full and you'd have about 150 pounds over the rear axle.

I put sand bags and cinder blacks in the back of the Astro, and it really helps it. I have not put any in the Camaro yet but I dont think I would put more then 150, it might hurt the suspention.
