  • removing e brake

    is removing my e brake illegal because I messed it up and it looks bad now I tryed to install another e brake handle but things went bad so I wanna remove it and put some high performance brakes on my car just to be safe any ideas of removing the e brake will help thanks

      You'll have to check you local laws (probably easiest to call a shop who does inspections and ask). I know in VA you will fail inspection if it doesn't work.

        I'm not 100% positive on this, but I think every State (that requires Inspection) will fail your car if the e-brake doesn't work. It's a safety feature that is required through every automotive manufacturer.

        And to answer your post; Removing the e-brake cables will not benefit you in any way.

          Im not removing it for performance Im removing it cause I messed it up trying to install a e brake chrome handle

              its not like its soooo important that it should be illegal for him to break his e-bake, it breaks on its own

                I don't see how you permenently broke your e-brake just by changing the handle.

                  Jsut fix it... imo stupid not to have one.


                  and I never had my last 2 cars ever inspected since my state did away with inspection years ago.
