Today when i got into my car...i drove down my street and went to apply the brakes everything seem normal till right before im about to completely stop...its as my brakes lose grip...the LOW TRAC light comes on...brakes recapture grip but this is a major security issue....sounds like abs issue to me....is there a sensor or something? I know i need front brakes which im fixing on thursday. any light shed on this will be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Brake Issues

I think you just hit something slippery on the road. All of your brakes shouldn't have lost grip together at the same time. If you can determine that they DID, i'd have a professional look at it asap!!! Waiting until thursday is a diaster waiting to happen.

It sounds like a faulty ABS, but thats just a guess.

My opinion; Your brakes are your life! I wouldn't just install new pads and think the problem could just go away or take it for any more test-rides. I'd make an appointment with a professional to have the ABS analyzed.

Sounds like the ABS is messed up. Take it to a professional to find out what the problem is. Until then pull the ABS fuse so it doesn't try to kick on.

I had the same problem previously. I had to replace the right front hub assembly, which contains the ABS sensor. Can you tell if it feels like one wheel in particular that ABS is kicking in on?

                    Re: Brake Issues

I had the same problem. My brakes worked fine when Im above 20. Any quick stops at speeds below that and the abs is kicking on and off and causing me to almost rear end people all the time. Sometimes I would hear a little gring noise from the back brakes, but midas told me those were fine. I never did fix it or find out what it was. I had my front brakes done at midas and they said the abs was fine. I went to midas do to a metal on metal noise. They said lower control arm bushings. I found out it was actually my driveshaft about to fall off of the car. Well I totalled the car after I hit the brakes on a corner and the car spun out of control. Anyways, get it fixed, and dont go to midas lol.
