  • white smoke.

    Now hold on before you call it a blown head gasket.....There is just a small cloud of white smoke that occurs ONLY when I first turn the car on after sitting, like over night, or for a couple of hours. Just one shot of smoke, then gone. ideas?

    valve stem seals.

    Once they warm up and expand, they keep the oil from slipping past. But when cold, they let a little oil through.

      anything to worry about then? the heads are brandnew, have jusst over 1,000 miles on them.

          white smoke is not oil.

          it is from condensation in your exhaust pipe from the exhaust cooling down, it will heat it up, and blow the smoke out.

          edit* you sure it is white? By the way your talking it does sound like what was already mentioned, but it should be a def. blue tint to the smoke, i have a car that does it.
