Hi, I'm new to these forums and I just had a quick question. I need to replace the belt tensioner assembly, but it says I need to torque the bolts to 35 foot-lbs. Do I need a special tool for this or is there any way to use a good old ratchet and if so how will I kno Ive put enough torque on the bolts.
I rebuilt amost my complete engine with out using a torque wrench. Just dont over tighten anything and youll be fine. Snug is all you need.

Yea, if you dont have a torque wrench available just make everything like John so elligantly put "snug" to "very snug". but in this case snug to the point where you have to start to give it some significant force.
HAHAHAAHA, I know i might be a red neck, but ive worked on many engines with out ever using a torque wrench. I think were most people screw up is they over tighten every thing, thinking it will come appart if they dont.

Still trying to find oil leak on my Camaro, it’s a tough one. I think it is the oil pressure sender myself. Leaking when raving and going into boost....
