about how often should the timing schain be replaced? im all about the prventative maintenance! any one here do it there self? how much does a shop charge usually?

the timing chain should be replaced when it breaks i wouldnt dream of replacing it before 250K though. big difference between a belt and a chain.

i had the timing gasket replaced and he did the timing chain and gear it cost me $480
