  • Nooby Question about T-Tops :P

I just got my car saturday and I have a rather simple question... basically when I take them on and off, I open the door, then I just close the door with them on. The side window seems to kind of be placed halfway up the weatherstripping, and I was just wondering if I'm supposed to roll the window down and up or if it's supposed to be like that. The driver's side window doesn't really work hardly at all.... I'm going to clean the connections and if that doesn't work then it's new window motor time.

The shop said about 50 bucks. Any place online you know of that's cheaper?

I have found that when I replace the t's after I have enjoyed a day of open air. I replace them with the doors open and windows up. After I have reinstalled the top and locked them down. I close the doors with windows up. I find that helps to properly reseat the window against the gasket creating a better seal. If the doors are closed with windows up, they may not seat well and if the car is not used again before, say, a rain, you will get a leak. It might not be the "factory answer", but it has worked for me. Blessings!

I use the same method for puttin my tops on. I dont know how much to put a new motor in, i do all my work, but $50 seems fair enough, gets to be a pain in the *** especially since i have big hands.
If its not fast of loud, its no good.

50 bucks for an install is about the best you will find without doing it yourself.

you can also try adjusting the window after the new motor is installed. If you want the link lemme know
