i will give the camaro gas to go up in mph and it will be fine, but soon as i maintain my speed she will start to buck. i would think that it would be a misfire but it's not happening when i'm givin it gas. my air/fuel gauge is reading a little high. she doesn't try to stall out. and the rpms are fine. oil and everything looks good. when i had my second little blow up with the nitrous the only thing that didn't get replaced is my maf screen. i think that i just need to replace that.
Or even uplug the MAF sensor and drive the car to see if that clears it up. If it does help then youll need to retune the MAF sensor. Ive had a similar problem after my cam install and it was the MAF sensor. It wont hurt the car at all to drive with it upluged, but the car will bog down a bit when you are slowing down which is normal. Hope tha helps a bit Kristen.
I had that same problem with another one of my cars, but it would also do it when I was trying to get up to speed and while cruising. The problem was the U-joints I replaced those end of problem.
i know that mine has something to do with the maf. so i ordered the screen and i will go from there. it's pouring in philly today anyways so i can't do anything about it.
Not sure if you determined if it is a misfire or engine problem, but sounds like it could be the transmission lock up kicking in and out. Is this the kind of "bucking" you are experiancing?
Try driving with the Overdrive off (D not OD) and see if this changes anything.
before you damn the maf, take some electronics cleaner (somethign that leaves NO residue) and spray off the little wires in the maf.... i know that maf's do goofy things to a car and when you had your little mishap, maybe some gas residue got stuck on the wire causing it to get mis-calibrated.
I would also take a good look at your vacuum lines. If you're accelerating and taking in more air and making a rich a/f mix, a vacuum leak wont kill it that much, but if the engine is trying to optimize the a/f mix and you're leaking in more air, then things could get hairy... besides, who knows what got ripped apart when you had a small hiroshima goin on under your hood..

If you have a scan tool check to see how many grams per second it's flowing . I know gm has a chart somewhere for it . I think at idle it's like 6 or 8 but i cant remember . That will tell you if the maf is working right .
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
