Engine knocking...

Ok so yesterday I hear this weird sound from my engine, like a knocking.. Today I changed my oil... Still there... I have no idea but my dad said it might be a valve..Any ideas??

go to autozone or a store like it, and get some valve stuff. u add it right to ur oil. it will be called like valve treatment or something in that nature

i got a knock/tick in my engine, it is a lifter. so could be a lifter, push rod

i dont know its weird because my engine felt a whole lot slower now lol. and when i rev my car it gets louder... did fix ur problem??

i am working on replacing my lifter, it was the intake lifter in cly6, i am changing all 12 of them.

I don't want to scare you guys but engine knocking is usually associated with severe engine damage.

I would try Sea Foam Deep Creep. Spray it into the intake. Stopped my tapping....

I dont hear it from my intake though... I really dont get it sometimes it stops and then the next time i start my car i hear it again which = gay because it got my hopes up.

Well I did the whole Sea Foam thing at once. So the SF engine treatment could have done it. But my car did the samething, it was only every so often, mostly on startup. Gained back my MPG, HP, and stopped the tick.
