  • Oil Pressure = 0

    Background information:

ProCharged V6 (custom application): Oil pressure sending unit placed in high-pressure feed line to ProCharger. (ProCharger is P600-B, not self-contained.) Car seems to run fine "most of the time". 30 minutes in stop-n-go traffic and oil pressure drops to 0 at idle, low otherwise. Timing cover (oil pump assembly) has been reinstalled three-times for none related issues.

No visable leaks found, no smoke!
Oil was changed this morning -- this did not solve the problem.

Tapping noise can be heard from the back of the block area, but only inside the cabin. (tends to come and go)

    Any advice would be helpful.

Oil pump has been reinstalled 3 times, but never changed?

Have you tried bypassing the charger?

I'm thinking its a pump problem if the sending unit is known good!

Worst case is a possible spun bearing. Other things could be a clogged pickup screen, bad pump, bad sending unit.

          sending unit - good
          pump - good

I spent some time with the car today, hopefully fixed a bad ground problem and did some more wiring. . . Read a few pages in this horribly written book and discussed the possibility of a damaged oil-valve (pressure valve), which was not replaced when the new cover was installed.

Replacing the pressure valve will require pulling the oil-filter bracket, something I am not willing to do at this time.

The car will be going for diagnostics at an unconfirmed time.

Sure the sending unit is 100% good?

have you tried to swap units with the virus and see how it worked out?
