oil filter

anybody know if i could use the mobil oil filter m1-201 on my 3.8? i was told by 2 guys at auto zone today that i could so i bought it. the threads and holes look the same as m1-101 which is what it calls for

If thats the one for the 4WD 4.3, then yes it will fit. I have a Napa brand 4.3 4WD oil filter on mine.

Mobil one filter is the same as a Ac Delco other then mobil one's plate is thicker were it threads on. It is the same filter other wise.

yeah if it works for the 3.8 then it will work for your 3.4

i have a 3.4 with the T-5.. i dont konw if this other filter is longer that factory, but if it is, I konw i'd have a hell of a time gettin it in..

just something to think about.. maybe get the cheapest comparible filter that the store has and try it first, before spending $12+ on the mobil filter..

i have the same engine and tranny, i installed the longer k&n gold filter and that fit, there is enough clearance.
