  • Looking for the next best upgrade for my car and I need some advice.

I just bought by intake, exhaust, and new wheels and tires. What should be my next performance upgrade?
The mods: Flowmaster 3\" catback exhaust system, K&N Aircharger Intake Kit, Polished 077 Eagle wheels and more to come.

Give us some more specifics about your car - what gears are you running? Do you have a limited slip differential?

You really should only post in one of the 2 forums you just posted on...

Hey, I have a K&N aircharger kit as my intake and a 3" Flowmaster catback exhaust. That is the only mods i did so far. I have stock gears to answer your question on my 99 3.8 v6 camaro. i dont really know much about gearing so any info would be helpful. Also what do you guys think i should do next. I dont really have a great deal of money to spend now, but what should be my next upgrade and give me the biggest bang for my buck to bring my 1/4 mile time down?
        Thanks
        mike

Since you don't have a great deal of money right now, ignition upgrades are a fairly cheap way to pick up a few hp.

Whoa. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but the first thing you need to do is upgrade your mind. If you start installing things and you have no idea what they are or how they work, you are setting yourself up for disaster.

Do a lot of reading and searching before you consider doing upgrades. Learn how things work together. This site has a ton of good reading (just wish someone could recommend a good book on cams for me!) so do lots of searching first.

The first question you need to answer is: what am I planning to use my car for?

                  **EDIT**

Before I even did any mods to my car, I spent about 8 months reading here and 5 months with a friend who is very knowledgable about cars. Talk to people and learn as much as you can before you commit to doing mods.

                  **EDIT**

A Whisper lid, Headers and a high flow cat. Then drive a while and read a lot, before you do anything else. Like Serpint said it's very important to choose your mods carefully, otherwise you are just wasting your money.
