i have a coolant leak behind and above the water pump. is this the lower intake gasket, or could it be something else? ( it's not coming from the thermostat or hose...)

sounds like the lower coolant elbow from the lower intake to the heater hose manifold is cracked. pour some ground pepper in it until you can fix it.Y87 Package

F that. Its a $3 elbow that takes less than an hour to replace. Just get a new one and fix it.sigpic

agreed with the fixing part, but
you've never heard of using pepper to stop a coolant leak? the big pepper particles try to flow out through the leak and clog the leak shut temporarilyY87 Package
