I have A 2000 v6 camaro and i noticed (mostly on the highway) that when the car is at a steady speed the rpm's begin to surge. it goes away whenever i accelerate of decellerate but then will eventually come back. im thinking its the coil packs since i have just replaced the spark plugs and wires but could anything else cause this?

        Re: rpm surge

clean your mass air flow sensor and change your fuel filter
those are the typical causes of surges like that.
if that doesnt take care of your problem i'd check fuel pressure and make sure its acceptible as long as its good run an aggressive fuel injection cleaner
