Yes. But it depends on what load/current is being drawn from them. I think the 14.4 is when your alternator is working. I think if you just measure of battery sitting there, it should be closer to 12.6v.

The battery in your car is a 12.6V battery.
The charging system in your car is a 14V system.

When I was selling batteries, they put out about 2.2 volts per cell. That comes out to about 13.3 volts for a 12v battery. The voltage can vary depending on how well the battery is maintained, but I have never seen one higher than 13.3 volts.<a href=\"http://www.fatninjas.com/camaro\" target=\"_blank\">\'96 Camaro Convertible</a>Comment
