  • Engine rumbling

Hey there, I have a 97 camaro RS...and it seems every morning I go to work my camaro's engine rumbles a bit and its a lil load to the point where my windows and other little knicks rattle a bit...its not that loud or rumbly but it gets annoying. Its only in the morning when its the worst..it also gets a little rumble when I turn sharply..any ideas on what this could be? I also have a missing bolt on my exaust manifold which im getting fixed this weekend..that couldnt have anythign to do with it could it?

Sounds like you need a tune-up. Quickly.

Seriously, unless you've modded the heck out of that car, or you've transplanted a LT/LS-1 and modded it, your motor should not vibrate or shake so much, that the body vibrates. I mean mine does sometimes, but I'm dating a freak, soooo.. yeah.

Are you throwing any codes? These are the best things I can come up with, as your post is not really descriptive.

Naw, everything is stock ATM...im planning on getting all this crap done to it but I want to figure out this problem first. I got a new alternator but is their anywhere specific I could go for a tune-up? how much would cost too? what should I get for the tuneup?

If I was getting an "SES" light, or a "service engine soon" light, I'd get the codes scanned and then fix those problems first.

If not, and I absolutely had to pay for a tune-up, then I'd check around my town for a reputable mechanic and shop. Don't take her (your car, not your g/f, you crazy, crazy bastard) to a place like Jiffy Lube, Midas, or god-forbid a chevy dealership. Because if you do, you'll recieve the bill, and they'll recieve your testicles. (if the aformentioned girlfriend hasn't already taken them) Costs vary tremendously from person to person, and place to place. But expect to spend no less than 150-200 dollars, all the way to around 400$.

It's in your best interest to have a Haynes Manual, the parts, a free weekend, and a few cervesa's. Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, blah blah blah and all that rot. You know?

well, the SES light isnt on, no light is on which is good. They all work BTW. What consists of a tune up?
I know plugs and wires but what else is a must for a good tuning?

              ^Yep, plus:

              Oil Change
              Oil Filter
              Air Filter
              Plugs + Wires
              Fluid Checks + Top-Off (all)
              Leak Checks
              Full Visual Engine Check

Also, check your manual. It lists specific things to check at XYZ amount of miles. Just pick the mileage your at, and do everything it suggests, and all the things you didn't do in the previous miles, listed in the manual.
