• Exhaust Troubles

My exhaust has been rattling for sometime now. I ignored it for awhile, but now it's bad.

The exhaust is hitting the piece of metal that crosses under it. Right below and inbetween the 2 front seats. I dunno what it's called but it's flat piece of metal and the exhuast is hitting that when I hit a bump, rough road, or at idle. At throttle it goes away.

My visibility/access was limited but I think the exhaust itself maybe hanging too low there, or at least alot more flex (up and down) than I'd have imagined.

I'll probably end up getting a whole new exhaust anyways, but thought I'd post to see if anyone knew what is wrong with it, or an easy fix for time being.

inspect the horizontal s pipe hanger. the rubber chassis mounted bushing should be in good shape. there is a piece welded to s pipe the make that connection. make sure all that stuff is good and not broken.

How many times do I have 2 say this?? CHECK THE DAMN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS!! These things R, like every other GM bolt, complete crap an' WILL break on U. This happened 2 me an' I welded up the whole exhuast, got a new Cat. ,etc. So I'm tellin' U...if THIS happens 2 B your prob. all the "Hangers" in the world won't do U any good. An' U'll probably also have a ferocious exhaust leak O' which you're "unaware". *CALMS SELF* Oh yeah...an' anybody that says "Oh...Jus' rip the heat shield off...", is an idiot.
