• Pics of the new Supersucker "track' lower airbox

Just got these from the manufacturer today. I pulled the SS out of storage and attached it. I crept out of the alley and hit the highway. It felt awesome  I really noticed a difference. These are plastic welded like the new Supersuckers. These will be sold seperately for those who already have a Supersucker. Or you can buy the complete CAI kit that includes both lower airboxes. The street version for daily driving and the track version for hitting the strip. Also they will also be sold as street kits or track kits. The great thing about this is when you leave the track, take it off and run with the top CAI box Since the top box is very similar to SLP's,Whispers or, FTRA you still get the benefit of CAI for daily driving if you chose not to get the street lower airbox. Contact LM Performance, or Speed Inc or e-mail me at albert0155@aol.com for more info.

Here's the links for the pics

Animals and small children beware. You have ram air so why switch to that sort of intake?

Remember, it's for the track only. Squirrels, rabbits, and small dogs

beware.
i can't wait for the track to open so I can compare it to the regular street version of the Supersucker.

Well - the factory "ram air" isn't anything special. It is more of a cool air to engine system because on the SS it has to wrap around before it goes into the airbox.

i know with my ftra, the airbox is sealed except for where the air comes in from the bottom of the car....this is more efficient...

also, here is my question about this "new" set up....if the gap where the air is coming in is still the normal size, who cares how big the scoop is? To me, it doesn't seem like it matters.

I think it is a good idea, but when does the loss of aerodynamics outweigh the hp gain.
Have you ever stuck you hand out the window at 50mph, and twisted it back and forth. Im sure you noticed the resistance on your hand when it was cupped foward. I do relize that the difference is that the air does pass through the tubing and into the engine, but how much?

I don't know about the aerodynamics. I just know I felt a difference when I took it out on the freeway. It accelerated better.

These have been around for forever on the Impala SS side, under the trade name RAMMIT. Universal compliments over the power gains. LOT of complaints over sucking up water (can you say hydrolock?), pine needles, leaves, rocks, parking bumpers (they break so often you can buy the scoop seperately), etc.. etc..

I'd never mount one on my ride. Sorry.

It doesn't matter if it is sealed... air isn't compressable at normal subsonic street speeds

I installed semething similar to mrjuice's Ls1 00 but it was not extreme.
I am forgetting the name of it.
It had a normal version and then a track addition extension....
He gained 2 mph at the track if I am correct
