  • Part# for T to go on fuel pressure??? Also, wideband question?

Does anyone know what the part number is for a T that I'm guessing I will need to hook up my Fuel Pressure gauge and also my nitrous fuel pressure cut off switch??? I'm guessing both go to the same place... ?? On a 2000 Camaro, is it where the little black cap is??? Only place I could find. I have an Auto Meter fuel pressure gauge, and the sender does not screw into that fitting???(yes i took the black cap off :P ) I'm guessing the sender is universal, so I was just going to try and find an adapter for it, but then I was reading the NOS kit instructions and found that I have to pull out the scerader valve(however you spell it) and hook up my nitrous fuel safety switch there... So I'm guessing I will have to get a T to share the valve?? Anyone know the part # or what to ask for... I went to Advance earlier, just to try and find an adapter for the sender unit(before reading about the safety switch... and they where a little confused and could not find any type of adapter...

Also, for you wideband O2 users... I have my gauge installed and i'm going to get the sensor placed tomorrow. Question is, i really don't think i have enough cord to run the line to where both headers collect... So, would I be able to just hook the wideband up on the driver side, upper Y-pipe? I would only get readings from the one side instead of reading for both??? Guess it's better than nothing huh???

Ohh, and one other thing... If anyone has a link to a website that has picture instructions and detailed instructions of installing a NOS 5175 kit on a Camaro or Firebird... that would be GREAT :)

Thanks for any help or info you can give,
    Jeff

For the fuel pressure sender and FPSS, you'll need a 90* elbow for the fuel rail then an adapter for it to connect. And yes, you need to remove the schrader valve with schrader valve remover (I will try to find pics).

Then you'll need a T fitting such as this: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku for the fuel pressure sender. Cut the fuel FEED LINE (not the return or vacuum line) put that in and put clamps on both ends of it.

For the wideband, it wont read correctly if its only in one bank like that. Dont waste your money if you cant place the sensor in the right postion.

Here is a link to instructions for the NOS 5175 kit (it in the stickies too ;) )

Here is a helpful link to installing a fuel pressure sender on a 98+ car: http://home.comcast.net/~grayman99/EFPS-Install.htm Thats the link I used when I did mine :)

Here is a pic of the FPSS installed:

The fuel rail test port is -4AN thread and the FPSS is a 1/8 npt thread.

shodown, you can do it differently than that and I think the other way is what he is after.

In the pic you have there shodown, where your FPSS attaches he wants to put a T fitting there and have one end connected to the schrader valve, other end to FPSS, and the other for his gauge.

That way he doesn't have to cut his fuel lines which can be a pain to tighten down, as I found out when I first installed mine, lol

Ohh, so the Holley link is for the NOS kit :P I seen the link, I guess I should of clicked on it :) Yeah, 97 is right, can I just use a T to place on the valve so that way I can hook my gauge and safety switch up, i think the kit comes with a 90 degree elbow... don't know if that's where it goes?? so, if it does go there, can i get a T and place it on the elbow? so that way I can hook my gauge up on one end and safety switch on the other? Anything to keep me from cutting into fuel lines.. Oo :(

As for the wideband... I sure hope I can hook it up into the collector... because i really don't think i have enough line.... this sucks... why in the world would they not supply much line on something like that... freakin A... Oo I guess I will find out tomorrow when I go to the exhaust shop... So, it will do no good for me to hook i up in one pipe? Dangit...

So, anyone have a idea for a Part # for a T that I can use for the fuel pressusre, if it's possible??

          Thanks again,

Hey 97rs4life, I remember you saying you had the MSD window switch. Where did you hook that think up? I was reading the directions and in one figure it looked like they hooked it to a coil pack? then another they tied it into the computer??

As for the wideband, talked to my dad, his a master electrician, told me if I could not run the wires to where they weld the wideband in, he could slice and extend the wires... thank goodness... I'm not much into wiring... Oo So, maybe I'll be ok on the wideband after all... I have a tune ready to add to my car that I setup with HP tuners(thanks for the help 97rs4life) but, I really want the wideband to make sure I don't kill my car :) I shouldn't from what I've changed I increased the fuel, since I was running way way to lean on the Long Term Fuel tables.... Plus I'm getting 8 KR a lot... First I'm going to get the LTFT set to run just into the rich area instead of lean and fix the KR.... Then... just maybe then... can I run my nitrous... Oo

Does anyone know the size of the ends for the T I would need... I may be able to figure that out tomorrow at the exhaust shop...

            Thanks,
            Jeff

Re: Part# for T to go on fuel pressure??? Also, wideband question?

I would say to tap into the fuel line for the fuel pressure sensor is the easiest way to do it since his car is a 2000, it has all rubber fuel lines, not plastic ones like ours. Thus he shouldnt have any problems with it leaking. Just my .02

I was just about to tell you to extend the wideband sensor wires, its really easy, but you said your dad will help you do that.

I think the T fitting you are asking about is this: http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/shop...cat=348&page=1 but I dont know what fittings you would need to put that on the rail PLUS the FPSS. Thats why I say just tap your fuel line for the sender ;)

Re: Part# for T to go on fuel pressure??? Also, wideband question?

I have a T fitting coming off of my schrader valve for a fuel pressure guage and the FPSS.

                I used this T :
                https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...rchTerm=661710

Your gauge sender and FPSS should be 1/8th male and screw right in.
I forget what exactly I used off the schrader to adapt it to the 1/8th tee, I'll look at that later.

Looks like this is what I used.
                https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...0002_276702_-1
I believe the Schrader is a 4an male, if so this would work.

Cool thanks for the links. :) Looks like I will have to order the stuff, because I cannot find anything around here. Another question... Could I buy a small nitrous line and hook it up to the T that way? The Nitrous hook up is the perfect fit for the fuel rail, but I would need a Male end... woud be nice... but, I say your way will be the route I will go.

Another question. So, will I need the same parts when I hook the Nitrous pressure gauge up? Does the NOS 5175 kit already come with the T and everything so I can hook up the gauge or should I just go ahead and buy two of each, on the links you sent me?

                    Thanks for all the help,

So I can't attach it up in the engine bay... ??? :( ohh, please please please... don't tell me that... I have the Nitrous pressure gauge ran out into the engine bay with all the other gauge wires.... I thought I could run it in a T or something from the engine bay... Oo

Also, while your on here 97rs4life :) Don't know if you read it or not, it's a few replies down in thie post, but, where do I hook the MSD RPM switch up at?? I was reading the directions and one part says to what looks like coils, another says computer. I did a search and I did find a post where someone said if hooking it up to the computer, hook it up to pin 52?? Was wondering if you knew anything about that?

                        Thanks,

You can hook up the nitrous pressure gauge sender under the hood, thats where mine is.

Just use one of these inline from the bottle to the 'noids: http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/shop...cat=348&page=1

Let me see if I can dig up some pics of mine.

do you have a nitrous pressure gauge for the pillar? I was thinking you just had the basic one that mounts inline with your feed line and didn't have any wiring. If you have one for a pod then yes for sure put it under the hood.

I have the dynotune 2 stage window switch, not the MSD one. But yes get the feed line from the coil packs for the signal or tap it where it connects to the pcm. Either place will work
