  • Electrical Upgrade?

I am in the process of making a rather big upgrade from my last system, which consisted of 2 Xplod 12s in a truck box running 300w rms total. I will be running one 12" FI Q on 1500wrms at 1ohm from a US Amps XT4000D. This will be in a approx 3 ft^3 ported box at around 34-36hz. To get the most out of this system I need some help. First things first a guide on the big three would be appreciated beings I am unable to stumble upon one. Also opinons on a Kinetik HC1400 to go underneath the hood. Finally the biggest upgrade. I have yet to find a HO Alt strictly for a 96 V6 camaro. So anyone with knowledge of an alt that will fit our vehicles that is preferably around 200 amps or above. All help and opinions are appreciated.

    Thanks

    Re: Electrical Upgrade?

The "Big 3" is from alternator to battery, battery to chassis and engine block to chassis. Use minimum 4awg wire. I used 0awg. lol Had tons lying around. (If you live in Central Florida, I've got yards of it you can have!) Ensure bare metal to bare metal contact. Remove all paint, primer, dirt, or debris.

Never used or seen the Kinetik batteries.

When you start running multiple runs of 0awg wire, it can be tough to connect everything to the battery. This is the part you would need for the positive terminal:

And here's some quality 0awg wire.

And if you choose to run all 4awg, surely you can find 4awg wire/connections from the same sites.:)
