When the BCM fails, it controls certain things in the car, like the radio power, power windows & locks, and it comes and goes.

      My radio would shut off

Post #6 Tells how to fix the problem

Because we don't get $#@% for traffic around here. And when we do, it's $#@% like this. I think this topic took literally 2 weeks to be "solved." During that time, there MIGHT have been one other post on that stupid topic below this one. Not trying to be a pessimistic jerk, but come on...:poke:

I've been a member of this board for a long friggin time. Longer than most anyone still active today. This board wasn't always like this.

I was not referencing that it took 3 pages to solve the problem. Just that we had two weeks of boring posts. I mean hell, the topics on the first page go clear back to the beginning of May. We go days without a single post in here.

EDIT:Now that I look back at my post, it did sound like I was saying it took forever to solve his problem. But that's why I put "solved" in quotation marks. I'm noting that, if I wasn't b!tching, this topic would have ended.

                Re: Problems with my deck

I have a Bose Cassette/AM FM Monsoon system. It works fine. I acquired
another unit that has the CD instead of the Cassette but when I plug it
in as the original unit was plugged in, ONLY THE RADIO WORKS. The CD
seems totally dead. It will not take in the CD unless you manually shove
it in. This new unit has a 2000 mfg. date.
To me the CD section just may not be getting power to run. Any ideas?

                  Re: Problems with my deck

Pull it out, get a good grasp on the radio, and throw it at the nearest solid object like a concrete wall, or in the path of a semi.. because its shot.

well its one of two things...either it isnt getting power, or it is infact shot...did you buy it brand new? take it back...if you bought it used...you may of gotten ripped off...double check the wiring...

                        Re: Problems with my deck

the radio works fine. I had a friend check the bose wiring diagram and the radio
& the CD get power from the same location on the circuit board. I got the unit free.
my OEM monsoon has a cassette player and I would prefer the CD.

Yes this is a very common issue!!!Some people will tell you to buy a new $300 bcm but the easist thing is to pull it out and resolder it.If you remove the kick plate on the passenger side under glove box you can get to it fairly easily. It should fix the problem without spending any cash!!!!! I have a pic of the bcm where you need to resolder if you anyone wants?
