Why do stb's for the v6 fit ss camaros but not z28's? I heard it had to do with the oil dip stick, but isn't the ss engine the same as a z28?

no idea where you heard that but they do. v6 stbs will fit v8's, but v8s will not fit the v6. (due to alternator placement) -

and if u put a v6 brace on a v8 yes it will be in the way of the oil dipstickComment

It was on lmperformance.com, the braces they sell all say 93-02 v6 all, 93-97 ss.but they don't say anything about a z28.1997 Chevrolet Camaro

The 93-97 z28 braces go straight across the engine.
