Help! I'm becoming frustrated with my attempt to install new sway bars! I have a 98 and everything seems to be nice and rusty... I had to cut off the endlinks because they were not budging at all. But now I'm trying to remove the brackets that hold the D bushings in place, and I've gone through 2 13mm ratchet heads without any movement at all. Does anyone have any tricks to getting these off aside from cutting through them as well? I dont have replacements at the moment...Thanks.

Use a wire brush to clear off all the rust and oxidation.
Then soak with PB Blaster. This stuff works so much better than WD40. Shoot it every half hour for a couple hours, and it should come loose.Drivetrain Moderator - "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people!"

Yeah, I soaked mine with that PB Blaster, but I ended up breaking one bolt that holds the bushing bracket on. I just drilled it out and re-tapped it. Took an extra hour to finish, but it worked great. Them bolts were rusty...bigtime!!sigpicComment
