  • Cross-drille rotors????

I'm wanting to get a set of cross-drilled rotors for my car for nice looks as well as the good stoping performance. I'm considering Power Stops cross-drilled rotors. Others are too expensive for me right now. My buddy is aldo considering gettin these type of rotors. However, he told em that he was told that cross-drilled rotors have tendancy to crack and break. I'm hoping this is not true. i'm wanting to find this out for both of us. Also are the Power Stop rotors good or not. Thanx guys!!!

A cheeper line is the powerstop. yes cross drilling does tend to weeken the rotor. Look for a sloted or dimpled rotor if your worried about that. Zinc coating is something else to think about. If you want some really sweet rotors look for the baer epi-speed (sp) rotors. Expensive but really nice. If they made them for the LT1 I would get some for my car :(

The Powerslot Pro rotors and dimpled and slotted. They would probably be your best bet.

tirerack.com has a lot of rotors that you can search by vehicle and compare.

I recommend against cross-drilled unless you like the look. They do not "perform" better.

I like the look of the Cross-Drilled, and realize that there's no perfomance gain in them over slotted. They do crack from what I hear.

So where do you all stand on dimpled/slotted (not drilled all the way through)for the looks, but still get the gains of the slotted?

You are not going to hve to worry about cracking unless you plan on autocrossing on a regular basis. Just be gentle when first breaking them in, and be sure to get a good set of pads.
