well i guess i need new brake pads and i was wondering about ceramic pads. what are the pros and cons of ceramic pads. i.e. how long do they last, do they really stop squeeling, are they rotor friendly, do they make a film on the rotor (thats why i need new pads), do they have good stopping power.

I skimmed through those pretty fast...there's a lot more topics under the search.
They minimize brake dust and squeeling..don't know how long they last though.94 Camaro 3.4 A4
T-Tops
In the process of an LS1 swap.

I have had carquest ceramic pads on for over a year, about 15k miles on them, NO squeaks whatsoever, and they have good stopping power. I've heard that they will warp plain (unslotted) rotors, but so far I have had zero problems with them. I have ceramic pads on unslotted front rotors, and ceramic pads on the rear slottled rotors, and I love them! I'll never go back to conventional brake pads again.

The stock/part number for the carquest ceramic brake pads is GCD623. It is for the front of my 96 camaro. I don't know the stock number for any other year from 98+, I just had the box in my garage full of extra car bulbs.
