• BWAHAHA.... free suspension!!!

I was riding in my roomates car yesterday and I found some little tiny tubular trailing arms sitting by my feet.

I asked him "what are these for?"

He said " I made them at work for my buddy's motorcycle" (he works at a fabrication shop)

I said "Make me some suspension parts!!"

He said "ok"

We went on to discuss what I wanted, and naturally I blurted out LCAs and a panhard rod.

Should I get them made out of tubular steel or tubular aluminum? He is gonna make them this week.

What other free tubular stuff should I get. I was thinking about a torque arm.

It would be really cool to get tubular A-arms and such for the front suspension, but those look time consuming to fabricate. He is making this stuff in between jobs at work.

Anyways... back to the point. SHould I get steel or aluminum stuff?

I just realized that most of you guys are gonna hit me up for cheap suspension parts now.

Let me see how mine work out and then... yes, I will ask him if he will make stuff for you guys at a discount price.

tubular aluminum would be good. try to get some quality bushings for them as well. also, tubular or boxed sfc's would be cool.

How about having him make you some Tubular Shut The Hell Up?
You bastard
lol j/k :D

But I'd just look at what they are made out of from like Hotchkis or something and have him make it from the same material.

dont make them out of aluminum, chances are too high that it'll break/bend, etc.,

yeah.. use steel.. or solid billet..

problem with aluminum is that is "may" not be strong enough (depending on thickness)..
but more importantly are the welds.. aluminum is much much harder to weld properly..

soo be carefull..

I got a better idea.

Instead of getting huge, super heavy steel tubular lca's and phr....

I will have my buddy weld a plate in underneath my stock ones to turn them into "boxed" units.

I just saw that SLP does that, and they sell them for 100 bucks!

What do you think?

should I make ghetto boxed parts or get new heavy steel ones?

the hollow steal ones will probably weight less then the stock ones.. uness you are using like 12" diamiter steel.. or some crazy stuff like that..

either way.. i dont recomend it..
