  • Kumho's in the snow?

Unfortunately, I don't have the option of having summer only tires. Are the Kumho's, 711 or 712, decent in snow? Has anyone had any experience with them on snow/ice?

yes...they suck  I don't know if they're any worse than any other tires, but I refuse to drive in the snow.

Im planning on a set of Pirelli P Zero Nero's for the winter... well, actually for year round. listed on tirerack for $104 a piece and have about the best snow traction rating of the Ultra High Performance All Season tires. they show incredible wet and dry traction ratings too. Cant really find too much feedback on them, i'm just going from the ratings. Unfortunately I dont have the luxury of not driving in the snow and have done more than my share of it. Anyone have comments on the Pirelli's?

No experience with them in the snow, but I've heard from several people, they are horrid for snow driving.

Great rain tire, bad snow tire.

            um.

712s suck in the snow period, as do most z rated tires.

711s are a little better, but still suck in the snow

best bets are to find some nice performance tires you like and sandbag the back of the ca rdown.

I've had some good luck with my Kumho 716's in the snow. They have really good wet traction as well. They are fairly cheep too, 70 bucks on tirerack.com

Ok, I think that I have found my tire then.

Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asymmetrical. I need something in 255/50/16 so that my speedometer/odometer will be off as little as possible, and I the ratings and price on them as well. I was just wondering, though. If they are asymmetrical, shouldn't they have a button for right and left tires?

My fiance has 712's on her toyota avalon, and they did very well last year in the snow.

WHen I got my 711's I saved my stock tires.

I am going to put those back on in a few weeks.

Based on the way my stock tires performed, I fear the 711's in snow.
