  • Help! ASAP Brake caliper bolt stripped thanks to dealer ship!

I took my car in for the brakes. Well they said my caliper was bad and replaced it. Now iam putting new brake pads on and rotors. And the bolt on top of the caliper is stripped. I cant even find the right size. So how do i get it off? They also put my tires on so tight i had to jump on the braker bar to break them lose and iam not light! So please help! THanks!

How stripped is it? You're talking about the hex bolt right? Get a set of easy-outs and try. Or better yet take it back to the dealership and tell them since they stripped it they can replace it for you free.

Yea its the hex bolt. I dont think i want to take it back to the dealership. There a bunch of morons and ive had it back there 4 times in the last month. FOr other problems that arent fixed yet. Easy outs? Is that the kit you drill into the bolt and try to extract it out?

Um... Thats not a special tool. Its called an allen wrench. So I assume it wasn't stripped then, as you used an allen wrench to get it out?
